Dan arrived at being a Personal Trainer via Alberta, Egypt and Thailand, and recently made his home here in Victoria after completing two seasons of Rappatack wildfire fighting. Although he has a knack for “flashy” and “weird” exercises, Dan is a master at teaching the basics. His passion for teaching movement awareness is done by teaching his clients to listen to their bodies and to make informed movement decisions in and out of the gym. He’s able to expose their weaknesses, which is the foundation for building the strength they need.

Upon graduating high school, Vicky attended UNB in Fredericton in pursuit of her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. In 2006 she moved to Calgary, building her career through long-term clients and a few management positions at Heavens Fitness. Most of Vicky’s clientele are either injury-recovering, or those new to the gym world - she has a drive for finding the weakest link in systems and making the fitness environment a non-intimidating setting. She believes a pain-free, functioning body should be the default.

Adam fell in love with the gym after spending his whole life playing sports. Throughout that time he has competed nationally and internationally in various competitions. He has also coached provincially ranked hockey teams and top track athletes. Adam has spent time coaching fitness in Hawaii, using measurable, functional movements to improve all aspects of fitness, to a wide variety of abilities. Possessing a degree in Sport and Fitness Leadership, Adam has the skills necessary to modify and adapt any fitness program for anyone with a Chronic Disease to High level athlete, to ensure that everyone is enjoying their training and meeting their individual needs.

2x Barry’s Roubaix Champion (2015, 2016)saac grew up in the province of Quebec as a short track speed skater. Upon graduating high school, he moved to Quebec City to train with a provincial training centre helping him reach a national level in the sport. His 13-year career was cut short with an unfortunate accident after which Isaac joined the Navy. During his time in the Navy, Isaac took up triathlon, but shhh, he doesn’t like to talk about it much. He took up cycling as it was a natural switch from speed skating. After leaving the Navy he pursed cycling at the elite amateur level racing all over North America as well as Europe. He now spends his time coaching and studying mechanical engineering.

Colin loves all sports, training hard and making athletes strong . His training philosophy is “Walk before you run”, and then asking “how does this apply to my fitness goals? “. Having a prepared body allows the athlete to work forward without limitation. With the right balance of tensional forces inside, the body’s athletic performance remains pain-free and fun. Colin’s analysis of the client’s biomechanics can teach them what needs to be loose and what needs to be tight for their body's best ability. He believes every fitness journey is unique but the need for pain-free movement is a constant.

Saskia has always had a passion for physical activity - whether it be playing volleyball at a competitive level, snowboarding with friends or competing in triathlons. To further her passion, Saskia went to school to study Sport and Fitness Leadership where she learned the importance of inclusion of every ability taking part in physical activity. Saskia is happiest when she can motivate others and help tackle goals. She is always looking for another epic goal to crush - she recently completed her first Ironman race in 2016.

Tonija has been into fitness her entire life. Starting with gymnastics and martial arts from a young age has taught tonija the importance of body awareness and working with a prepared body. she trained in Shotokan karate for 12 years, obtaining a black belt at the age of 16, and became nationally ranked at the age of 18. For the last several years Tonija has involved herself in lacrosse and playing for the Victoria Senior women's team, The Victoria Wolves, loving the challenge it provides both physically and mentally. she's been working in the fitness industry for 7 years, noticing that her experience as an athlete has been extremely beneficial in learning to coach and train clients. tonija's approach to training is results based, making sure the body can move properly first to maximize every session, in order to reach goals as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Melissa graduated with academic distinction from the University of Victoria, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree, in 2005. She is currently working towards a second degree Chemistry. Having trained in a variety of sports, most notably track, triathlon and swimming, Mel has found her athletic passion, as a distance runner. Currently, she’s ranked in the top 50, by Athletics Canada, for the 8k (2016, 2013) and 5k (2014) distances. Having been active in the wellness field since 2003, Melissa has worked with a variety of clientele ranging in health and background. She has experience working with aging population, injuries, athletes and everything in between! Melissa believes that everyone is unique and, thus the pursuit to achieving optimal health varies. Correspondingly, she uses an array of fitness practices ranging from Pilates, bar lifts, functional movement patterns, endurance based training and beyond, resulting in optimal fitness achievements specific to the individual.
